-+- Asciimilator 1.0 manual -+-
-+- Disclaimer -+-
This program is supplied as is. This means that you use it at your own
risk and I can not be blamed for anything which happens to you or your
computer because of it.
It can be distributed anyway as long as little profit (if at all) is made
and it comes with this manual.
-+- Introduction -+-
This a program which converts Amiga IFF pictures into ascii. This
program offers quite a few options, is relatively small and quite quick.
It was programed using Blitz Basic 2.1. This program is giftware, this
means if you use the program a lot and it like then hopefully you'll send
a gift (e.g. a disk, money, a program of your own etc.).
Send anything to:-

You can e-mail me at Mark.H.Klocek@stud.man.ac.uk
I will only be able to answer during university term time.
-+- Requirements -+-
An Amiga with at least a meg of memory. I think an AGA Amiga may be
required, but I can't test whether it will work on non-AGA Amigas.
It also uses the Diamond font, but will run without it fine.
-+- The Options -+-
* Load IFF - Loads a picture into memory. Currently only supports all
non-HAM modes (i.e. 2 colours to 256 colours)
* Do it! - Asks where to save the ascii picture (you currently cannot
over write any files). Then it does the conversion.
* Greyscales - Allows you to change the number of greyscales the final
ascii picture will appear in.
* Inverse - Inverts the colours of the final product (i.e. white = black
and black = white).
* Horizontal/Vertical pixels to one character - How many pixels each
ascii character should represent.
* Character Set - Which of the three character sets should be used.
* Mode - Either quick standard mode or the the more accurate colour
average mode.
* Conversion mode - Which way the ascii characters are printed.
* About - Tells you a little about the program.
-+- Thanks -+-
Thanks go to Paul Huxham the creator of IFFtoASCII, the most usable
program I've found of this type even if it was a little slow.
-+- History -+-
V1.0 - First public release.
-+- Future -+-
* Make it so you can actually overwrite files.
* Add some more ascii sets.
* Improve user interface.
* Give support for HAM pictures.
* All depends on user feedback.
